Hi, it's been a while since I've been on but here to tell you I am home recovering from surgery. I ended up going to Rochester (I'm in Buffalo) to have the DIEP procedure done. They did have to do a free tram for the one side but the amount of muscle they took was so much smaller so I'll be alright if I want to have kids later. I am so happy with my decision. I'm in a lot of pain but getting better everyday. My tests also came back on the tissue as normal so there wasn't any sneaky cancer hiding which is good. Also, through URMC, they are freezing my tissue so if anyone wants to study non cancerous tissue with BCRA gene, they can. Who knows, maybe they can learn something from it. It was definitely worth the trip. Thanks Everyone for all the help I got here making my desicion!

It's the best news ever when your pathology report comes back clean & I love that they took tissue to study…who knows what they will discover next…

This is wonderful news, Congrats to you for making the brave decision of PBM's. Univ of Rochester has some amazing doctors!
