The findings to date are encouraging for those women seeking mastectomy & alternative options for reconstruction.
Georgetown University Hospital had a study between 1989 & 2010 and it was found that out of the 162 surgeries performed no cancer recurrances & no new cancers were found in those who received nipple sparing mastectomy surgery.
