Please tell every woman you know THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A REGULAR MAMMOGRAM AND A DIGITAL MAMMOGRAM. It is the same as taking a picture with a standard camera vs. a digital camera or watching covential TV vs. a program in high def. Bottom line- a conventional mammogram did not detect my cancer and a digital mammogram did due to a very wise and well equipped radiologist. She saved my life. When your doctor is issuing a prescription for a mammogram insist on a DIGITAL MAMMOGRAM and sonogram. The insurance companies will pay for the DIGITAL MAMMOGRAM but the prescription has to be written as such. Do not listen to doctors who tell youthere is no difference. I am living proof, empasis on living, : ) there is a difference.
